What depth can be created through pencil and paper. As I experiment with mediums, I am loving pencil on watercolor paper because of the texture it allows. I can use the texture to my advantage when I have a subject who’s skin is full of texture!

Don’t be afraid to pick up a pencil and paper! I love sketching for many reasons. One great benefit is that I always walk away having learned something from my subject. To draw it, you have to observe it and spend time with it. Most often that leads to new discoveries. What will you discover?!
